Northbrook Park Wedding Photographer: Daniel & Martyn
There are weddings, and then there are weddings. When Daniel and Martyn told me that they were planning a Christmas themed wedding, complete with adorning Christmas trees, Love Actually pop up choir and operatic singing waiters, we knew it was going to be some day! With all the excited goodies kept under our secretive hats, we so looked forward to celebrating our last wedding of the season with them.
We have worked with the couple before as Daniel’s brother Lewis was married to Claire at their gorgeous wedding in Froyle Park in 2017, it is always so exciting seeing former couples at weddings, especially when the whole family is at the wedding.
Both Steve and I were made to feel so welcome on the day, with hugs abound and so many offers to make sure we were alright.
Daniel and Martyn walked down the festive aisle together inside Northbrook Park’s Orangery ceremony room, never have we had so many tears – the whole room was overcome with emotion as they made their promises to each other and said their vows. One of the comments that really resonated with me was that Daniel has been with Martyn for over 15 years and never until recently thought they would be able to celebrate their relationship by getting married. So powerful.
After they said I do to each other, their guests enjoyed the wonderful singing by XXX (it was so great working with Abe Hampton again after the Four Seasons wedding earlier in the year) and made our way outside for confetti and champagne. Considering it was 3 days before Christmas, guests were outside enjoying each others company! It was the perfect temperature and the sun was shining for their special day.
We quickly created the classic family photographs and progressed onto beautiful contemporary photos of the boys together to create a beautiful section of their days gallery.
The evening felt as if everyone was on cloud 9; hilarity and laughter abounded and of course we had to dress up a little with Irene and Sam from Irene Piera Videography – hello Rudolph dress up hats!
The speeches = hilarious, emotional and a bit more laughter. Toastmaster Jxxxx led the whole day expertly and navigated into the evening seamlessly from speeches to cutting of the cake and first dance. Thats when the party started with band Capitale playing the classics and of course the odd Christmas carol!
We finished the day on a high and don’t think we came down for a few days just in time for our own Christmas celebrations.
Below you will find lots of our favourites from the day as there was no way I could cut them down! Would love to hear what your favourites are in the comments too!
With thanks to the wedding team:
