There is one thing that we learned in 2020 that the one thing in life that is important is our friends and family. We have all missed out on important moments and now more than ever is the time to get together with our favourite people for a photo shoot.
It can be daunting looking for your family photographer, but the one thing that has been told over and over again from our clients is how much we put them at ease.
We adore photographing our families, documenting those in-between moments of piggy back rides and tickles until they cry.
At Summers Photography, we have been photographing families since 2002. To sum up our photography style, would be vibrant, colourful, relaxed and raw. Raw is a funny word, but we look for those raw moments, looks of love that nobody else would notice, the moments of glancing looks and those tickles again. It’s also how we work the session, we will prompt you to stand, walk, sit, play in specific places to work with the light; it’s unscripted, it’s you guys, it’s raw and real moments.

How would you describe your family photo shoot style?
Vibrant, colourful, just you guys interacting and having fun. We love the in-between moments and laughter for everyone. Those are our favourite images.
Can you help with location ideas?
We have a variety of locations that we regularly shoot in that we can absolutely recommend. However, we love the locations that mean something to you. Your local dog walk, your back garden, a favourite day trip location; they all speak volumes about who you are as a family. Just be aware that some parks and historic locations require media permits that you will need to pay for in order to shoot in.
If outdoors, do you plan for weather?
Of course, the UK weather cannot be guaranteed. We keep an eye on the weather and track it all the way up to the shoot. If it looks like it is going to be torrential, then we can put a back up date in. If it is spitting and we can dodge showers, we can go ahead depending on what the weather is up to!
What's your availability like and when can we shoot?
If you have a specific date in mind, it is best to get that secured in the diary as soon as possible. Weekends are of course limited, but week days are more flexible if you urgently need a session. We prefer to photograph in the morning for little ones to be at their best, but do let us know what works for your time scales.

After the shoot, how long do we have to wait to see the photos?
You will have your full gallery online to choose any products up to 2 weeks after the photo shoot.
PERSONALISED & UNIQUE SHOOT
We have worked in many work areas with multiple families on different days. You would not realise that each of these clients are in the same location, how we use space, light and composition is unique for each client.
We don't hold images back
We don’t see why we would keep all your images and charge you per image. We want to share all of the images that we take and redeem the best quality of our art and your family session. Expect to receive on average 50-100 images from your family shoot.
Complimentary Colours
It’s super important to match your colours to bring a cohesive look and feel to the shoot. We will be sharing our favourite outfits and colours that will suit you, the season and the location.
