Oakley Court Wedding Photographer: Maria & Rob
On the banks of the Thames you will find Oakley Court Hotel in Windsor. At first, an unassuming entrance, until you progress up the winding driveway until you come to the castle, incredibly manquered grounds and the river at the bottom of the garden with the willow trees swaying in the wind. It really is a picture postcard venue and one that we were thrilled to photograph Maria and Rob’s special day.
I met Maria through a local networking group called Business Girls Network; a group I had only been a part of for a few months and Maria sourced all of her suppliers for her wedding day from the Business Girls group. It was non mean-feat as she planned the whole wedding in less than 12 months, yes 3 months to plan a wedding! Incredible.
The day went without a hitch, with perfect weather and perfect friends, family and loved ones coming together. The ceremony was a tear-jerker with a promise to Maria’s teenage daughter from the groom Rob, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room and a very sweet moment to photograph. Then Rob had organised secret transport which was parked outside the front of the hotel entrance; everyone admired the camper van and stopped for photographs as they walked past; wedding guests and non wedding guests included!
Before the wedding, we met together to discuss plans for the day and what family photographs Maria and Rob would like and these plans went really well on the day with Maria and Rob having time after the groups to socialise with guests whilst Steve and I photographed the Windsor Suite for the wedding breakfast.
The florist, cake maker, stationery and details all came together; including the pretty afternoon tea on the tables.
After the meal and speeches; we escaped with the bride and groom for a walk along the river, a glass of prosecco and beautiful light as it was nearly golden hour. We finished the bridal portraits at the fountain and out of nowhere the best men were photo-bombing our portraits! The result is one of my top favourite shots from the day as Maria and Rob realise what had just happened!
The band were incredible for the first dance and cake cut; such a great way to finish the day and their album.
Maria, Rob; it was a privilege to photograph your day and the images speak for themselves. Shortly after I sent the couple the gallery, I received a voicemail from Maria which said that she was at her laptop crying at the screen; happy tears of course and such love. I couldn’t ask for a better review and to be honest we felt the same looking at the final gallery – goosebumps!
Here are a few images below that tell the story of the day, it really is a beautiful story.
