The first step is to be clear on the brand identity you want to portray. Your logo and colours are a good place to start, but also having an idea of who you are selling to, what your clients or customers expect, your values and culture and how you want your customers to feel all add to their impression of your brand.

First Impressions are important

It only takes a few seconds, or less for a person to make a first impression and once formed, it can be pretty hard to change that perception.  Sharing photos of you and your team can really bring the human element of your product or service to your client or customer. Professional looking photographs really do help to create the right first impression and help to build-up a picture of you, your company and the brand.

Love your Product – You really love your product, right? Perhaps you have carefully crafted or developed it over the years or maybe it is really new and very exciting and you just can’t wait to share it with others. How do you share that passion in an online world? Awesome pictures of your product will of course help you to sell, but also consider sharing photos of how your product is crafted, made or packaged. Are there any key or unique steps or processes which make your product stand out from the crowd?

Location, Location, Location

Be as authentic and real as possible, the best backdrops and background will depend on the nature of your business. If you are offer a service then an office background is likely to be the best option. If you have a workshop or product-based business then people would love to see where it is made. Also, don’t be afraid to think out of the box get some photos of your product in use or visit a favourite place to take photos. You can get some great natural photos outdoors or perhaps in a hotel or a stately home. Just don’t forget to ask for permission first of course.


Everyone loves a good story! Is there some history behind your products or your brand, can you portray or share that through photography?  By building a story through your images builds up a know and like trust with the viewer.  Your prospective client will see what goes on behind the scenes, where you started in your business and what you can do for them now.
